After graduating from high school Dr. Hughes attended Macomb University in Detroit, Michigan. He furthered earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life University in Marietta, Georgia. After receiving his State License in Georgia, he attended classes approved by the Secretary of State, for certification in the application and use of electrical therapeutic modalities. Every year since graduating from Life University (1984), Dr. Hughes has attended post graduate seminars on such subjects as Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Clinical X-ray Interpretation, Thermography, Surface Electromyography, Soft Tissue Injury and Rehabilitation, Pediatrics, Management of Sports Injuries, Extremity Evaluation and Adjusting, Mechanism of the Accelerated/Deceleration Injury, Spinal Rehabilitation, as well as various chiropractic clinical adjusting techniques.

Dr. Hughes has been recognized as an expert witness and has provided testimony by deposition as well as testifying at a trial in multiple motor vehicle accident cases. Additionally, he has performed several Independent Medical Evaluations, for both patients and insurance companies.
